MMc401.3 Typography

Paint the town red

Meaning: You want to go out and enjoy yourself.
Ideas: 1)Buildings being painted red, visible brush strokes, scaffolding with workers painting.
2)Silhouette of a town with red paint dripping onto it from dripping letters "Paint the town red".
I like the use of a silhouette for the city, it shows the vast size of the city, I don't like the font however, its too bland in my opinion i would like to see something more fun since the idiom does mean go out and have fun.
I would like to use a hand drawn look for the font such as in this piece.
Just an idea for having people working on scaffolding painting a building red.

In the dark

Meaning: Unaware or don't know.
Ideas: 1)Top of a persons head with a broken light bulb above, as a light bulb above someones head means they just figured something out.
2)Man standing in a spotlight of dark while around is light.
Along the idea of having a broken light bulb above someones head, this might work better though.

Out of the blue

Meaning: unexpected.
Ideas:1)Shark made up out of the words "out of the blue" Breaching out of the water.
2)Area painted blue, someone stepping out of it.

For the second idea, i like the arrows as if saying this was out of the blue.
Mainly just a reference image of a shark jumping out of water.

Caught red handed

Meaning: Caught in the act.
Ideas: 1)First person view looking down at bloody hands, knife on the floor, on a blood covered leg showing from around the door, tired young child stood at an open door rubbing eye not fully aware of what happened.
2)Red hand catching a ball that says caught red handed on it.

Similar to what i was thinking for my first idea but it would be from a first person point of view.
